Aa~ A tortoise asked me for directions while I was coming here, and I went all the way to the Dragon Palace for it.
(The Dragon Palace in Oriental mythology is a palace on the ocean bed where the dragon rules the sea from. Legend has it that a tortoise may sometimes bring you there.)
That made me really late.
Good evening!
I'm Inoue Kazuhiko, the voice of Hatake Kakashi.

NARUTO
And with that, today is your third appearance! I'm counting on you!

KAKASHI

NARUTO
Kazuhiko-san.

KAKASHI
Yes.

NARUTO
You're not awake yet, are you?

KAKASHI
I'm awake!

KAKASHI

NARUTO

I think everybody may want to know.
Just what kind of a relationship do we have in our AFUREKO sessions?
(AFUREKO = after record, periods of time where seiyuus, after their jobs, group together in the studios to socialise.)

KAKASHI
What secrets could we be hiding?
So, what's our relationship?

NARUTO
In fact...

KAKASHI
We don't get along too well, right?

NARUTO
Liar!
I'm always laughing at the jokes you crack, don't I?
Like, a ha ha ha ha!

KAKASHI
Yes, thank you.
Thank you for your insincere laughs.

NARUTO
I met Kazuhiko-san for the first time when doing NARUTO.
Ah~ Ah! I've heard Kazuhiko-san's voice before, yes yes, YAAAH!! - that was what I thought initially, and we had an AFUREKO session like that.

KAKASHI
But you had such a blank face then.

NARUTO
I was nervous.

KAKASHI
Oh! You mean you'll have a blank face when you get nervous?

NARUTO
Yes.
And then, I will be unable to give proper greetings to everybody.
Because I'm nervous I wouldn't have the energy to worry about such things, you see.

KAKASHI
Yes, but you went up to me and said, 'I am Takeuchi.' Like that.
'Why isn't Inoue greeting me?'

NARUTO
Liar!
But you said it yourself!
While at another studio I wondered if I should have given a proper greeting and asked Kazuhiko-san about it...
"That's all right! You don't have to! Just do what you have to do!"
You said that.
So I thought, oh phew, I guess we'll go on like that!

KAKASHI
Well, but I think it'll be better if you just offered a greeting!

NARUTO
Yes, I'm sorry.
Then, let's change the topic slightly.
Have you met up with any 'Sha-nyarou (what the heck?! - this is what Inner Sakura always says)' events lately?

KAKASHI
Lately?
From the studio?

NARUTO
It doesn't have to be from the studio.
I do have one!

KAKASHI
What?

NARUTO
Can I say it?

KAKASHI
Go ahead.

NARUTO
I had my palm read lately.
Great, isn't it?
This was my first time having my palm read.

KAKASHI
Cool!
That in itself is a 'Sha-nyarou' event, eh?

NARUTO
Isn't that right?

KAKASHI
Why did you do it?

NARUTO
It was by chance-
You see, I went to Yokohama with a group to sightsee.
We were tired and it was raining.
So they asked us to get into the shelter.
There was an overseas Chinese there.
And they said he was doing palm reading.
So they asked if we wanted to go in to try it out.
And we could rest there too.
So I went in!
And he read my palm for me!
But you know, one after another... that ojisan didn't seem to be doing palm reading after a while.
It eventually became more like he was doing fortune-telling based on our birthdates.
And he told me:
"You will become a young aunty to someone."

KAKASHI
Heei...

NARUTO
"It'll be from your mother's side."
Then he said "You'll be a maternal aunty to someone!"

KAKASHI
I see!
But that's not really Sha-nyarou is it?

NARUTO
It's a happy kind of Sha-nyarou.
He said I was young.
An aunty when I am still young.
It's a nice thought.

KAKASHI
As for me, I said some lines really wrong in the studio during the recording.
You know, there was this 'Chuunin' examinations, right?
Yes, we had that. So when we were recording...
I said... 'Chuunen' examinations instead.
(chuunen = middle-age)
At that time, I think all the voice actors and actresses there had a Sha-nyarou expression on their faces.
Everybody turned to look at me with a really cold snort.
"Hn! Kazuhiko! Hn hn hn!"

NARUTO
No! Everybody laughed out loud!

KAKASHI
That was such a shock!

NARUTO
But we all laughed!
Of course, we were doing a real recording at that time.

KAKASHI
A real recording.

NARUTO
Yes, it was, so we couldn't /really/ laugh out loud and had to hold our laughter.
But of course, we couldn't possibly let it remain as 'Chuunen' examinations, so we paused the tape.
After that, everybody started laughing, since it was all right.

KAKASHI
Well, /I/ was the one who felt Sha-nyarou, then.
I'm really sorry.

NARUTO
Please let us off!

KAKASHI
I'm always trying to make everybody laugh while cracking jokes with a blank face.
But at that time, I really wasn't trying to do anything.
I was probably the only one who thought, "Argh! I'm so pathetic!" at that time.
It was really something that made me go Sha-nyarou on myself.

NARUTO
But that was really fun and interesting.
We all actually have a lot of blunders like that anyway.

KAKASHI

Lately, this is what my Nindou feels like.
Takeuchi Junko's Nindou!
"I'll touch Ganko-chan at least once a day. This is Watashi no Nindou datte ba yo!"
And as for why,
it's because everybody's been asking me to touch my guitar at least once a day to get better at it.
So I touched it just like everyone said.

KAKASHI
You can't just only touch it and nothing else.

NARUTO
Damn, that's a fast attack.

KAKASHI
And also, if you leave your guitar in front of the TV or radio while they're switched on, they say it'll have a nicer sound.

NARUTO
Why?

KAKASHI
Well, it's like, because they get used to the sound?
And somehow become of the same wavelength.

NARUTO
What should I do?

KAKASHI
Try it.

NARUTO
Yes, I will.

KAKASHI
Yes.

NARUTO
Well, Inoue-san, please tell us your Nindou.

KAKASHI
Yes! Now then, Inoue Kazuhiko's Nindou!
"I won't lose to the young ones. This is Watashi no Nindou datte ba yo!"

NARUTO
I don't think the reason will be anything decent but... WHY?

KAKASHI
Well, I... am really an idiot sometimes.
But anyway I don't want to lose.
In whatever I do.
They'll always tell me not to strain myself too much.
Of course, they say, the young ones will definitely do it better.

NARUTO
Probably because they've got more stamina?

KAKASHI
That's why, even if I don't need to strain or push myself on, I just don't want to lose.
You see, lately I even competed with someone in diving when I went to the pool.
Even though I won...

NARUTO

KAKASHI
... I really thought I was going to die after that!

KAKASHI
I think you shouldn't do that.
When you kiss with your eyes opened, you feel like your nostrils flares up too, don't you?
Like HRRRMMMMM.

NARUTO

How about half-opened eyes?

KAKASHI
... Now we have from Kanagawa, Academy Student Shuriken-san!
"When going up the stairs, I must jump and skip steps.
This is Ore no Nindou datte ba yo!"
I do this too.

NARUTO
Because you hate losing?

KAKASHI

NARUTO
Because you want to climb the steps faster than others?

KAKASHI
You see, when you look at me doing that from behind you'll think I'm so cool.
Like, "Woah, he's so young!"

NARUTO
I see.
Being 'young' is the key point here, eh?

KAKASHI
But you won't get too tired even if you skip steps.

NARUTO

KAKASHI
Because if there are twenty steps then you'll have to lift and put your feet down twenty times.
If you skip a step you'll just have to do it ten times!

NARUTO
That thinking style is only for the old and calculative.

KAKASHI
I just want to get up there faster!

NARUTO
But it does feel like it'll be tiring.

KAKASHI
No problem.

NARUTO
